SMOK STICK V8 REVIEW – START YOUR ENGINES

Considered as the direct successor to the Stick AIO, the Smok Stick v8 is an improvement in pretty much all regards over its previous iteration. Now boasting a 3000mAh high capacity LiPo battery which is already a huge step up over the Stick AIO’s meager 1600mAh and toting the extremely well regarded and well reviewed Big Baby Beast sub-ohm tank; the Stick v8 is a true upgrade, sticking to the same ergonomic shape whilst bumping all the specs to the next level.

Product Pros

  • 3000mah battery
  • Great flavor
  • Compact

Product Cons

  • Smok coils are hit and miss

SMOK Stick V8 Review: Breakdown

SMOk Stick V8 Color

Build Quality

Constructed out of stainless steel, the Smok Stick V8 definitely gives off a premium feel when held in hand. It has some heft to it despite the tiny footprint measuring out to 24.5mm in diameter and 56mm in height. The mod itself weighs in at 60 grams while the included tank comes in at 88.5 grams. While it’s not the most lightweight tube style vape, the added weight is understandable due to the larger battery capacity rated at 3000mAh.

Aesthetics-wise, there isn’t much to note about the Stick V8 aside from the clicky firing button highlighted by an LED used to indicate the devices status and remaining battery life. A simple 5 clicks on the firing button turns the mod on and the LED flashes to let you know that the Stick V8 is ready for vaping. Minimal branding is found near the bottom of the mod and truth be told I’m not really a fan of the font they used as branding as I feel it takes away from the overall aesthetic of the device, although this is of course purely subjective.

The Big Baby Beast tank sits perfectly on top of the base making a perfect connection with the 510. Threading on all connections isn’t the smoothest but it definitely does the job providing an easy time screwing on/off the base and the included coil heads that come with the kit. One thing that I really appreciate about Smok’s kits is how the color of the tank always matches the finish of the mod, and the same stays true about the V8. Regardless of whichever color option you select for the Stick V8, you’re always going to get a matching tank that perfectly complements the base of the device (although depending on some color options, the tank only comes to a close shade and not a perfect color match).

Vapor Quality

The Big Baby Beast tank is a well-known performer which can be attributed to the rather large coil heads utilized which allow for bigger coils to be used. The fully adjustable airflow gives lots room for fine tuning that perfect draw specific to your preferences, not to mention that its a bottom airflow sub-ohm tank which means that you’ll be getting the best possible flavor production out of this setup as compared to vaping on side or top airflow RDA’s or tanks.

I didn’t have any issues with flavor or production off the bat when testing the included 0.15 ohm and 0.25 coil head. Both perform particularly well but I wasn’t happy with the overall longevity of the 0.25-ohm coil head as the flavor quality significantly dropped after day 3. I’ve vaped on this particular coil head when doing previous reviews and never experienced this poor coil life until now so it might not be an issue with the coil head but more of a problem in regards to quality control by Smok.

The tank comes with a semi-wide bore Delrin drip tip which is effective at keeping heat away from your lips meaning an overall more comfortable vaping experience even when chain vaping on the Stick V8. The kit includes a Smok vape band as well which is handy for protecting the glass chamber against accidental drops or tipping over.

While the Big Baby Beast tank doesnt leak during normal operation, I did experience some leaking when leaving the device on its side for extended periods of time which is something common to see in tanks of all variants, most particularly in bottom airflow designs such as the Big Baby.

SMOk Stick V8 on side

Versatility

Although the Stick V8 is an unregulated device meaning that the power output is solely dependent on the battery level, that doesn’t mean that the device doesn’t come with its own suite of protective features to ensure that vaping is as safe as possible on this device. The Stick V8 has an 8-second cut-off which is invaluable to vapers who tend to forget to lock their device. It also supports low resistance and short circuit protection so any errant coil builds will merely prevent the device from firing. A low voltage protection feature also ensures that the internal battery doesn’t get overtaxed when vaping it beyond its recommended voltage.

If you’re looking for more advanced features such as temperature control, pre-heat, or customisable TCR, needless to say, that the Stick V8 doesn’t support these functions. I don’t really see the need to include these as the kit is mainly geared towards beginners who will primarily be vaping in the regular power mode.

Another great thing about the V8 is its ability to support 3rd party atomizers up to a maximum diameter of 24.5mm without overhang, therefore increasing the potential for various builds which make it a good option for more advanced users.

Portability

The smooth and seamless design of the Stick V8 makes it all-too-easy to slip in and out of bags or pockets and thanks to its small frame, it easily fits practically anywhere taking up less space than a mobile phone.

The 3000mAh internal battery provides great longevity for regular usage, but heavier vapers might find the need to recharge during the later part of the day. Since the Stick V8 is an unregulated device, vaping output is highly dependent on the remaining voltage or battery life, meaning as the battery life inevitably drops, so will the amount of vapor and flavor the Stick V8 produces. Fortunately, charging is simple and only requires you to plug the mod into any power bank or USB power source with the included micro USB cable.

SMOk Stick V8 Review

Conclusion

The Stick V8 is a great option for beginners thanks to its easy operation and maintenance. Combining that with its solid construction and great vaping performance, makes the Stick V8 kit a worthy contender for anyone looking to get their first vape. Just watch out when having to stock up on coil heads as Smok’s quality control hasn’t been optimal as of late.

SMOK G-PRIV 2 REVIEW – A WELCOME SEQUEL!

Smok isn’t a company known for throwing in the towel and that’s pretty evident from the release of their latest device, the G-Priv 2. Now toting a higher resolution screen in a lighter and more compact frame, the G-Priv 2 is a massive improvement over its predecessor. Now only one question remains: Should you get one?

Product Pros

  • Clear and crisp color display
  • Beautiful paint finish
  • Lighter and more compact

Product Cons

  • Tanks don’t match the color of the mod perfectly

SMOK G-Priv 2 Review: Breakdown

SMOK G-Priv 2 Color Selection

Build Quality

No beating around the bush here, the G-Priv 2 is a beautiful device and it seems that Smok is ever so keen to put the dark days of the Alien’s shoddy paint job far behind them. Comparing the finish between the Alien and the G-Priv 2, you’d hardly believe that both devices are manufactured by the same company. Available in a wide array of 7 colors, it won’t be difficult to find a G-Priv that tickles your aesthetic bone. The finish feels high quality and gives no indication that it’s going to peel or flake off like Smok’s previous devices did.

Looking at the dimensions of the G-Priv 2, it’s quite an improvement in the overall feel and ergonomics of the device. Measuring out to 85mm* 52mm*27.3mm and with a weight of 181 grams, it’s not only smaller than the original G-Priv but lighter too. The reduced foot print makes holding the mod even more comfortable and satisfying, and the firing bar on the side still has the same reliable and tactile feel to it ensuring that each press results in an instant burst of power.

Comparing the displays of the old and new G-Priv, it looks like Smok has shrunk down the previous 2.4-inch screen to a 2-inch display. The tradeoff in size is worth it though because the colors are much more vibrant and unlike the screen on the original G-Priv, you’ll have an impossibly hard time noticing any pixelations on screen. The new 200 pixel per inch IPS display is more than just a marginal improvement over its predecessor and feels like an actual leap of technology was utilized in the construction of the G-Priv

Menu navigation is now a lot easier to deal with. The previous model while acceptable at the time of its release, now feels extremely clunky and unintuitive when directly compared to its successor. Changing wattage and temperature control settings on the go is now a lot easier and hassle-free. This also due to the increased responsiveness offered by the new IPS screen which rivals the ease of operation of modern touch screen phones.

The carbon fiber battery door is as sturdy as ever, held together by 4 strong magnets that firmly latch onto the device. There is absolutely no play or rattle when holding or even shaking the G-Priv 2 around which is a testament to how well built the mod is. The battery compartment is easy and straightforward to work with allowing for easy installation and removal of the dual 18650’s (not included) that go inside the G-Priv 2.

Vapor Quality

Another big improvement in this new generation of Smok kits is that now all their latest mods, including the G-Priv now comes with the latest TFV8 X-Baby which sports a fully top airflow design, meaning that the included sub-ohm tank is now leak proof. There’s absolutely no compromise in flavor or vapor production though thanks to the included 0.4-ohm dual coil head and 0.2-ohm sextuple coil head that comes with the kit.

The G-Priv 2 has all the power to back it up as well with a small step up from its predecessor in terms of power output, now capable of delivering a solid 230 watts, 10 watts more than the original G-Prives 220 watts. Although it would hard to imagine that the 2 batteries are capable of delivering that level of output, the onboard chip does a good enough job of pulsing the vape so that these wattages are achieved. Realistically speaking though, I’d estimate that G-Priv is able to output a consistent and stable 160 watts of power which is already more than enough for the vast majority of vapers.

The X Baby Tank holds up to 4ml of eliquid making it no slouch in that department. It also utilizes the same ultra-convenient method of topping up the tank which involves merely pushing and sliding the top cap off to the side to reveal the massive port hole to drip eliquid down on. The dual top airflow is freely adjustable allowing you to fully open up the chamber for nice and wide pulls, or dial it down to get a more restricted hit.

SMOK G-Priv 2 Tank

Focus On www.urvapin.com For More Vape Start Kit.

Versatility

Given the advanced tech that went into the G-Priv, it naturally supports all modes of temperature control including stainless steel, nickel, and titanium. Adjustable pre-heat functions and customisable TCR curves are also included as part of the feature set. Configuring each and every one of these vaping modes to your liking is extremely simple thanks to the improved UI and responsiveness of the screen, making on the go changes quick and hassle-free.

The 510 connection on top supports tanks up to 24.5mm in diameter. Although 25mm is possible, there will be a slight overhang which might be visible to discerning vapers. Nevertheless, compatibility with a wide selection of atomizers is another plus, especially given the raw power of the G-Priv 2, giving you the freedom to vape any coil build you want, at any power you please.

Portability

Definitely one of the tiniest yet hardest hitting dual 18650 devices in the market. The G-Priv 2 is small enough to fit into but the tiniest of pockets and its smaller footprint is a general improvement over the overall ergonomics of the device.

The dual batteries ensure that you’ll be vaping without a care for the entire day, but if you do find yourself in a situation where the battery levels are slowly depleting, they can be easily and quickly topped up by charging via micro USB (using an external charger is always more recommended though).

SMOK G-Priv 2 lying down

Conclusion

The G-Priv 2 can be heralded as the 2nd coming of Smok. Every bit of the way a vast improvement over its predecessor, the G-Priv 2  is a tempting addition to any vapers collection of devices thanks to its cutting-edge technology which makes fun and easy to use. Beginners who also think they can handle a bit more oomph to their vapes should definitely contemplate getting the G-Priv 2 as well thanks to its end-game performance and overall solid design.

SMOK TFV12 Preview | There’s a New King in Town

SMOK TFV12 Intro

Holy fog ‘n drip tips Batman! SMOK, the crazy company that brought you the Cloud Beast is at it once again with the TFV12 Cloud Beast King.

There’s a new king in town and he’s a beast….

The TFV8, much like the original gangster TFV4, quickly set the standard for sub ohm tanks by raising the bar quite high. This also landed them a spot in the hearts of vapers everywhere. Is it possible for SMOK to outdo themselves? They’ve done it before, so why can’t they do it again?

SMOK TFV12 Specs and Features

Specifications

  • Material:Stainless Steel
  • Size: 27mm x 70mm
  • Tank Capacity: 6ml
  • Thread: 510

And then there was… twelve!?

Smok-TFV12-coil

Leave it to SMOK to figure out how to cram twelve coils into one coilhead. When they got up to eight, we thought it was getting out of hand but a dozen coils!? Jesus Christ dude. There will be a wide range of other coil options available in addition to these crazy duodenary coil heads.

The SMOK TF-series had been known to deliver great flavor and I’m predicting that the TFV12 will only exceed that standard. The question now is by how much? The flavor on the TFV8 is the closest experience to a dripper you can get from a tank, in my opinion. If the TFV12 can top that, why bother dripping?

The Hummer of tanks

SMOK TFV12 Cloud Beast King Tank

The SMOK TFV12 has a 6mL capacity, which is good because it probably goes through more juice than a day care center. The TFV12 is heat resistant and explosion proof, whatever that means. The Cloud Beast King has a 27mm “chest” and it comes in a variety of awesome colors.

I think this tank is going to be very popular since the trends are now leaning towards quad-cell mods that are capable of above 300W. I don’t know why you would ever need such a hot vape but if you do, the Cloud Beast King can handle it. I wonder how it will compare to the iJoy EXO.

How do you think the TFV12 is going to compare to the original Cloud Beast TFV 8? Leave us a comment below and share your thoughts. Did SMOK lose their minds or are they changing the vape game, one beast at a time? I feel that Cloud Beast King is like the Hummer of subtanks.

SMOK TFV8 Review | The Dodge Viper of Sub Ohm Tanks

Smok has been in the vape industry for quite some time now and while they mostly made mods they have produced some tanks, most notably the TFV4, TFV4 mini, and the TFV4 micro, but up to now, they’ve been more of a mod-focussed company.

Well, all that changed in 2016 with the release of the Smok TFV8.

Interested in how the SMOK TFV8 compares to the SMOK TFV8 Baby Beast?

We were too so we did a SMOK TFV8 vs SMOK TFV 8 Baby Beast feature.

Arguably one of the hottest tanks to get a release in 2016, the Smok TFV8 is a powerful sub-ohm tank that can be run with pre-made coils and also an RDA for those that like to build their own.

In this respect, the Smok TFV8 is one hell of a versatile tank.

But does the Smok TFV8 Cloud Beast have what it takes to hold it’s own against some of the top performing RDAs and RTAs on the market?

Take a look below as we get down and dirty with the Smok TFV8 Cloud Beast.

Smok TFV8 Review: Packaging

The sleeve over the box explodes with flare on the front as it showcases an amazing picture of the TFV8. The overall impression is BIG, BOLD and IN YOUR FACE and I like it a lot.

SMOK-TVF8

The outer sleeve slides off to reveal a far more subtle black box in which all the gear is encased.

After opening the box you see the Smok TFV8 in all its glory, just begging to be held. Underneath is where we find all the extra goodies listed above.

Smok TFV8 Design

The look Smok TFV8’s look and finish is very sleek with the black and stainless steel being offset with the orange O-rings, making this tank a really eye-catching set-up.

The tank itself is HUGE, so make sure you have a chunky-enough mod to pull it off. Pen-style mods will likely be dwarfed by the Smok TFV8’s chunky chassis.

You can remove the drip tip as well and replace it with something else, always a nice touch for a tank. Like most decent tanks these days, the Smok TFV8 is a top-filler which makes adding E-Liquid very straightforward.

There is a little rubber seal that sits over the refill hole and I did run into a few issues with this; it basically became malformed after a week or so and wouldn’t sit flush to the device and this, of course, made closing the top of the device difficult.

SMOK-TVF8

Thankfully, a replace rubber cap is included and since switching — a week or so ago — I haven’t run into the same problems again. This is the only major con I have experienced in my time with the Smok TFV8.

As I mentioned above, the Smok TFV8 is bloody enormous; at full capacity, you’re looking at a max of 6ml of E-Liquid. However, because this thing is like an AMG Edition Mercedes, it LOVES to run at higher wattages and this, in turn, burns through juice almost before your eyes.

SMOK-TVF8

The airflow control is well implemented with easy to locate and operate notches on the side of the tank.

The Smok TFV8 is also very easy to disassemble and put back together again; I didn’t have any issues with this aspect of the device, although the coil connector at the bottom can get a little tight if you’re not careful.

For this reason: NEVER tighten it too much, as it will cause all kinds of headaches when trying to switch from sub-ohm to RDA modes.

All told, the Smok TFV8 is one of the most well-thought-out and considerate tanks I have ever used.

Smok has clearly designed the crap out of this tank in order to make it as simple and intuitive to use as possible.

Everything slots together easily, the pre-made coils it ships with are insane and, if building your own is your thing, you’re also free to do that on an expansive 25mm deck.

Focus On www.urvapin.com For Best Vape Tanks.

Smok TFV8 Performance

I started with the V8-T8 Octuple coil .15ohm (50-260W) that were preinstalled. I juiced up the coil really good and filled up the TFV8. I then waited about 10mins to ensure that the coil would be saturated with ejuice.

With the Smok TFV8 sitting atop my RX200, I started off at 50W and really didn’t get much more than my Herakles Plus. Bumping up to 60W presented me with the same results so I decided to go straight to 90W.

At 90W, I started getting decent clouds to form and the flavor started coming through but it was a cool vape compared to what the UWELL Crown delivers at 90W with a .25ohm coil.

Working my way up to 120W the vape started to get a bit warmer and the clouds started to grow dramatically.

I decided to jump to 190W and then vape got a lot warmer, providing me with good, thick clouds and intense flavor.

I did go to 200W and that was my max comfort level for my vaping style. At 200W the Smok TFV8 held its own, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

My sweet spot on the Smok TFV8 is around the 100-120W range.

Smok TFV8

Thing is: at this wattage you’re going to burn through juice at a rather alarming rate – like 30ml every couple of days.

For me, that’s too much. For this reason, I capped my wattage at 80W. This isn’t an ideal performance window for a tank of this nature but it still works great and gets the job done.

I like big clouds and that but I prefer having the money. I don’t want to be spending hundreds of dollars a month on E Juice because my tank likes to run at insane wattage levels.

The great thing about the SMOK TFV8 is that it can perform great at the 80W mark.

Sure, the clouds aren’t as big but if you’re after conserving your E Juice you cannot push this thing to its full potential 24/7 as it will bankrupt you.

It’s a bit like a BMW M3 in this respect: awesome fun, super powerful but it just LOVES to guzzle the juice.

Dial things back a bit, though, and you can get decent performance and better economy.

I really enjoyed the TFV8 at this wattage range and never once did I get any dry hit or dryness at all.

I did this test starting off with a full tank and after 40 puffs I still had half a tank.

I also experienced ZERO leaking with the Smok TFV8, which is amazing as the vast majority of tanks I have tested this year have been leakier than Hillary Clinton’s emails.

SMOK TFV8 RBA Deck

Installation is simple, you just screw it in and wick it and you’re away. The performance of this coil was off the charts — and a great argument for buying in pre-built Clapton coils over making your own.

I love that Smok included this alongside the two pre-built coils as it will encourage users to experiment with building their own coils, once they realize how easy and cost-effective it is.

All you need to do here is wick it — cotton is also included — prime it and start vaping.

Again, there was ZERO leaking in RBA mode and wicking is super simple; just tuck it into the juice well and you’re done. No messing around with length or poking it through things.

Excellent stuff across the board.

The Smok TFV8 RBA deck will also support pretty much any coil setup you can think of, so if Clapton’s aren’t your thing, well, you have plenty of other options available to you. And if you don’t like the whole DIY thing, simply buy a pack of pre-built Smok coils. Simples.

Are there any downsides? Not really.

The only thing that I could say about this tank that could be viewed as a negative is the rate at which it gets through E-Juice.

You can demolish 30ml in a couple of days with this thing. In this respect, it kind of reminds of a sports car from the 90’s – fun, great looking but awful when it comes to economy.

This isn’t a huge deal-breaker for me as we have a pretty constant supply of juice in the office, but if you’re vaping on a budget it is certainly something you should consider.

I have never used a tank that burns through E-Juice quite like the SMOK TFV8 does.

Other than this slight downside, I can confidently say the SMOK TFV8 is one of the best tanks I have ever used.

Smok TFV8 Review | Final Thoughts

Beating the Smok TVF4 is no mean feat.

The Smok TVF4 was one of the best all-around tanks on the market, easily up there with the UWELL Crown and Herakles Plus.

The Smok TFV8 is an utterly brilliant tank that is packed with utility; you can run it how you like and experiment with different setups until you find the style you’re most comfortable with.

In this respect, the Smok TFV8 is like three tanks in one: two awesome sub-ohm setups and one excellent RBA.

Smok clearly set out to create something that gives users the best of both worlds and I am pleased to report that Smok absolutely NAILED It!

The hype around this tank is fully deserved; it is unlike anything else we have tested before, combining good looks, excellent features, masses of power and plenty of utility thanks to its changeable coil system.

The pre-built SMOK coils, which can be picked up on Amazon, are also fairly decent – way more reliable than the company’s newer ones.

They cost a fair bit but they are very, very impressive providing a thoroughly impressive vaping experience across the board.

GeekVape Zeus RTA Review – Is It 100% Leak Free?

Does the Zeus RTA by GeekVape Live Up to Its Leak Free Label and How Does It Vape?

The new Geekvape Zeus RTA is said, by the company, to definitely be leak free and comes with a unique 3D dynamic top airflow system.

The whole design and concept is a step away from GeekVapes usual tanks such as the Ammit – Illusion and Griffin which featured bottom airflow.

As to how this unique 3D ‘dynamic’ top airflow on the Zeus performs we shall get to in a wee while – and of course it goes without saying we’ll be taking a very close look at if indeed the Zeus is as leak free as they say it is.Zeus RTA on the livepor 160

The Zeus RTA is 25mm with a 4ml e-liquid capacity and has a single coil deck and is available in blue – black – silver and the gun metal version I received.

The Zeus was sent to me for the purpose of this review and as always my thoughts and opinions are my own.

For the record as you probably know Zeus was the Sky and Thunder God and king of the Greek Gods.

Obviously I was chosen to review this not because I’m a vaping God – far from it lol – but more because I’m prone to leaking and have some experience on the matter…

OK let’s see if the Zeus has me raising my eyes to the skies and sighing or giving it a thundering round of applause…

I guess the most important feature of the Geekvape Zeus RTA is the ‘no leaking’ claim which we’ll tackle in the performance part of this review.

Ok this is a top airflow design with quite a unique way of getting the air to the coils.

There’s a 3D airflow system with two raised posts coming up and off the deck – enclosed within the inside chamber – each one with tiny holes that feeds some of the air to the coil along their length – they actually look like a section taken from a colander.

zeus rta airflow

The air flows down these posts hits the bottom of the deck and bounces back up through a larger hole and under the coil – very similar to a side-airflow set-up.

This is meant to deliver a smoother and less turbulent vape and given this is actually top airflow – it’s suggested it won’t impact on the flavor too much – more on that in a moment.

The deck itself is postless and it can be a little tight in there to work with given the two 3D airflow posts take up some room – but if I can get a build in there anyone can.

zeus rta coiled

The internal chamber/chimney has a slight domed cap to it and two slots where the airflow posts fit.

I received the standard 4ml capacity – a TPD friendly 2ml version is available – and filling is as easy as unscrewing the top cap – pressing down like a pill bottle.

zeus rta filling

The fill slots are slightly smaller than I may have liked with at least one e-liquid nozzle not fitting – but that’s a tiny nitpick.

To pop the top cap back on you’ll need to line up two cutouts – press down [to accommodate the huge seal] and screw finger tight.

Once you’re all set up the top airflow ring – which can be removed for cleaning – spins with a nice resistance and there is a stopper to prevent it from going through the full 360.

Build and Design Quality

As we’ve come to expect from GeekVape the build on this is very good indeed with everything screwing together well.

There are a lot of parts to this RTA – with the deck – inner chamber and protective ‘sheath’ etc – but it strips down easily enough for cleaning.

OK design wise it’s definitely one that appeals to my ‘less is more’ preference with a solid simple design.

The protective sheath inside the glass has Zeus cut outs and the chamber has the logo of the Greek God etched on the side it sounds a lot going on but it actually works well and is pleasing to the eye.

There’s a small amount of knurling to the base and the top cap – for the airflow control – however to remove to fill you’ll need to press down on the rim of the top cap to unscrew.

Overall it’s a well-made piece of kit that looks very good indeed.

How Does the Zeus RTA Perform?

OK let’s go straight to the elephant in the room – is it leak proof?

In a word yes.

Yup – this is the first RTA I’ve used and not once had a leak and trust me I’ve abused this somewhat!

zeus rta

This RTA has been everywhere with me for close to three weeks including at the bottom of my grocery bag – upside down in my pocket – upside down and on its side overnight – stuffed with too much cotton and barely any [not recommended] and it passed the ultimate leak free test with flying colours.

The ultimate test I hear you ask?

The cup holder in my son – Harry’s – car is most definitely the ultimate test!

Last summer I left the Ammit in there whilst we popped out and returned to find it had leaked everywhere – given it was a new car he wasn’t a happy boy and it smelled of lemon tart for weeks – oops.

So leaving the Zeus RTA in there upside down without any tissue meant I’d literally put my life in its hands lol.

Suffice it to say there was no leakage what so ever – however and given I didn’t tell him what I’d done until afterwards – I am now banned from ‘testing my sh!t’ in his car on the pain of death by a thousand atomic wedgies…

The young folk of today have no respect for the elders!

So yes it’s definitely leak free which is music to my ears – and other parts of my anatomy lol.

The GeekVape Zeus Flavour and Clouds

OK so that’s out of the way – how does the 3D dynamic raised posts top airflow set-up vape?

Despite all the airflow bits ‘n bobs it vapes surprisingly quietly with little turbulence even with the slot wide open – there’s some noise obviously but it’s definitely not a noisy tank.

Flavour wise you might expect this to be dimmed a little – however far from it – it’s almost as if the dynamic airflow herds the air to the perfect spot on your coil – good flavor indeed!

posts

Indeed I found this gave as good a flavor as my current go to RTAs the Kaees Solomonand Troll RTA and that’s impressive. The former making onto our best RDA / RTA list.

Building on it can be a bit fiddly mainly due to the two raised dynamic airflow posts that take up some space on the deck.

But given the deck is postless using a coiling rod or screwdriver means they can drop in easily enough.

Wicking the Zeus means you’ll need to adopt a kind of S shape with your cotton.

zeus rta wicking

Once you’ve threaded it through your coil you’ll need to bend it slightly to slot it into the wick ports – it’s far easier to do this with wet cotton btw.

You will need a little bit more wicking than you might think – but of course this can be trimmed once you’re happy – the photo of the wicking above came from my first attempt and a little too much in there.

zeus coiled n juiced
coil was cleaned straight after this shot!

I found just resting the legs onto the deck meant it wicked like a charm.

So performance wise I have found the Zeus RTA to be reasonably easy to build on with decent clouds and a pretty good flavor profile.

This one is definitely spending more time on my mods – particularly when I’m out and about – than the others in my collection let’s put it that way and will be my weapon of choice at this weekend’s Vaper Expo [last year I had a nightmare with a leaky RTA all down my clean t-shirt lol].

What I Like

I love the fact this is 99.9999% leak free – I’m sure someone will moan that it leaks – but given I am prone to RTA – RDTA leakage [it’s an age thing] for me to say it doesn’t should make you sit up and listen!

Design wise this fits right in my tastes – it has a simple profile that sits nicely on all the mods I’ve tried – neither too big and bulky or short and stubby – just bang in the middle.

It’s good it can take the Goon style 810 drip tips as well as 510s which does change the vape significantly with a lot tighter draw from the latter.

Cloud production is good – I have used a framed Clapton and a staggered fused Clapton as well as an alien all coming in under .2 ohms and the flavor has been very good indeed – which given the amount of airflow going on is excellent.

What I Don’t Like

If there’s one slight gripe it’s the 2 airflow posts taking up so much space on the deck.

Luckily my hands haven’t done a proper days work in their life so they were able to get into the small build space – if you have larger more manly hands you might curse a little but it’s not that much of an issue!

It does seem to like a drink and at 4mls vaping at around 60w to 77 watts I was filling up quite often – but then I’ve noticed a few of the RTAs I’ve reviewed and use are thirsty buggers.

Final Review Verdict

At last a leak proof RTA that really is!

The Geekvape Zeus RTA is a pleasure to take out and about confident in the knowledge you’re not going to be getting sticky juice hands and mod.

The flavour is very good indeed and at higher wattage with the airflow wide open the cloud production is impressive too.

Obviously this is down to your particular build – but I have to say I’m extremely impressed by the Zeus and I’m hardly an expert builder!

I love the simple design too and the dimension of the RTA means it looks great on smaller and larger mods.

So yeah I absolutely love this RTA and it is definitely in my top three – highly recommended. Would I buy the Geekvape Zeus RTA? Definitely one I will be buying in another colour – the gun metal version I received is so tricky to get all matchy matchy lol.
